Covid Psychosis Needs Action Now!!
Neurologist explains
neurologic impacts of COVID-19
According to neurologist Dr. Isaac Mezo, up to 40 percent of people who contracted COVID-19 experienced some degree of neurologic complications, including a more serious condition called COVID psychosis. Please take a moment to learn from Dr. Mezo about these neurologic complications and how the Morris Hospital Neurology Specialists can help treat them. Jennifer's message to
spread awareness on COVID-19 Psychosis
I reach out to you in desperation to get the word out more on COVID-19 Psychosis. My amazing husband just took his life on Sunday morning (2/28/2021) after a battle with COVID-19 that had him in the hospital for 5 days. His lungs were struggling, and his heart went into a fib but he was able to get better to get discharged last Tuesday. Once home he was a completely different person mentally. It was not frustration or depression from COVID-19 but complete panic and fear over things that were not even happening in his life. We consulted the Dr. and they gave him anxiety medication. It seemed to make it worse Saturday (2/27/2021) and I took it away from him again per the Dr. however Sunday morning he seemed to be better.
He slipped out of the house and took his life in a matter of minutes. We are absolutely devastated and heartbroken, but we know it was not our Ben Price who left us - he would never have left his beautiful children and family and never expressed a desire to commit suicide. We are all shocked - anyone who knew him is in disbelief. I would give anything for any national media outlet to do a series on this! I would help in anyway and speak and share our story. I have countless people contacting me saying they have had family and friends that have had this very same thing happen. It is not COVID-19 brain fog or depression related. It is a whole different level of brain takeover. Attached is just one article about this.
This is my husband’s obituary and funeral service to see what a loss we feel! Please help me honor him and help
others know there is more to watch out for. Had I known this I would never have let him leave my side and would have sought even more and better interventions immediately. I pray we can shine a bright and bold
light on this ASAP! Knowledge is power and we can save others from the immense pain we are experiencing.
With Gratitude-
Jennifer Price
Speaking to
Governor Pritzker
Jennifer Price had an impromptu meeting with Gov. Pritzker who has now added Covid Psychosis to the IL Covid Task Force and has forwarded the information to the White House. His COS has confirmed that Biden’s COS should be reaching out soon. Several medical professionals have reached out confirming they are in fact seeing Covid Psychosis in their patients, but have not yet heard of it. It is time to move past the discussion of triage and vaccines and focus on what Covid is doing to the brain.
Jennifer then received a phone call from the Covid-19 Intergovernmental Affairs Director who is going to be discussing it and provided her with his direct contact info.
Final
Message
I am reaching out in regards to the tragic loss of Ben Price after suffering from Covid Psychosis. Ben was a loving husband and father, devoted son, brother, uncle and an amazing friend to many. He was a successful businessman, farmer and a staple in our community. He was diagnosed with Covid on 2/12/21 and hospitalized for 5 days within days of his diagnosis. Upon returning home, he was not the same and on 2/28/21, he left his home and took his life. This loss has shook us to the core. Ben was thriving in life and would never leave this way. We now know he was suffering from Covid Psychosis.
His wife Jennifer has been on a crusade to spread awareness and spare others the immense grief she and her children are feeling. She has interviewed with NBC Chicago, WGN and Fox Chicago. Those interviews have aired in more than a dozen markets and made it to print in the UK just days after Ben’s passing. MSNBC is coming to interview Jennifer next week. Since coming forward with her story, people from all over have reached out to share their own experiences with Covid Psychosis and other mental health concerns post Covid beyond brain fog. In addition, she has caught the attention of not only the media, but medical professionals and government as well.
